Investors have been
coming to the Algarve’s Golden
Triangle in increasing numbers over the past
few years to purchase holiday homes. And
the reasons are not difficult to find.
It is a region that embraces some of the
finest golf and leisure resorts and residential
villages in Europe, most of them nestling in
landscape of outstanding natural beauty
just minutes from silver sandy beaches,
beautifully manicured championship golf
courses, fine restaurants and a host of sporting
and leisure activities.
Equally important, property hunters who
have bought here have seen their investments
continue to appreciate handsomely
over the years, specially in resorts such as
Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.
The Dublin-based O’Brien family business
bought the Quinta do Lago resort about
eight years ago and the Irish market has been
predominant in this area ever since. A market
where buoyancy has encouraged speculation
and demand often xceeds supply with
most of the top resorts in the Golden
Triangle all but sold out.
Vale da Quinta, owever, is one of the
very few quality developments that has been
allowed recently in the face of strict planning
laws that govern a region which is flanked at its eastern end by the pine forests, wetlands and lagoons of the Ria Formosa Nature
Reserve with its abundance of wildlife.
